Seven Things

Terry tagged me to write seven random things about myself that you don’t already know. This is what she said: “I’m sure there must be at least seven things we don’t all know yet.” Am I that transparent?

  1. I was born at home six months after my parents were married. I found this out when I was 9 or 10 years old and found the marriage certificate and did the math.
  2. I was valedictorian of my class and I still have the notes for my speech which was about continuing learning after high school, even if you don’t have the opportunity to go to college.
  3. I have held a job or been a working stay-at-home-mom since I was 15. I lived with our high school music teacher and his wife who taught piano after school. I baby sat and cooked dinner. I earned $5.00 a week plus room and board. In college, I waited tables in the dorm and later worked in the cafeteria in the Home Ec college. One of our frequent diners and a really sweet guy, was the famous physicist, Hans Bethe.
  4. I played first clarinet in the band and orchestra. I sang in two choruses and the church choir.
  5. I was a cheerleader. Which one am?cheerleader.jpg
  6. Between my sophomore and junior years in college, I was Miss Cincinnatus and runner-up for Miss Cortland County. Here I am in the Fourth of July parade in my hometown. My mother was furious with me for cutting off my hair a la Audrey Hepburn! misscincinnatus.jpg
  7. I hardly ever remember my dreams, but when I do they are so vivid I never forget them.

Now, I have to tag 7 people. Here I go, hope you have not already been tagged. Kristin, Deborah, Judy, Debra, Deb R, Dee, and Artful Quilter’s List Mom, Diane.

I spent yesterday in bed with an elevated temperature and general malaise. I am trying to get back to normal today. Everything is a mess, the weather is gorgeous and the dog beckons.

Ok…I say back row right. But the picture really is too small (or my eyes are too old). And I love the Audrey Hepburn hair!!

  3. DebR says:

I was going to try to Guess the Cheerleader, but even when I clicked on the pic to see it larger, those faces were still too tiny for these eyes. 🙂

I’ll do the tag, but it’ll be the weekend – Friday or Saturday. Gotta give this some thought…

Got my bumper sticker today. Thank you!!

  4. PaMdora says:

Okay, you were the one with the dot on your sweater. he he!

Hey Gerrie, we share the same honor, I was an early bird baby too! On second thought, maybe we weren’t early, maybe we were advanced for our age!!!!

  5. Reva says:

Yes, you ARE transparent — in a good way!

Terry tagged me, too, and I’ll play along, but I don’t think I know seven other bloggers who haven’t already been tagged.

  6. Quilting Fitzy says:

I received my bumpber sticker today, thanks! I’ll forward a picture soon.

    LOVED your 7 things!!

  7. […] and I politely declined. I’m not sure how much about me the whole wide world needs to know. Gerrie tagged me today, so I guess I can’t hide from this one. So, what seven random things/habits […]

  8. Kristin L says:

Back row on the left. And OK, I’ll play along.

  9. Judy says:

YIKES!!! You are indeed a difficult act to follow!

I think you must be the cheerleader in the back row, center.
