Coming Clean

I wish I was a tidier creative person, but I am not. I make giant messes that get so bad, I can’t continue until I get it cleaned up again. When I am working on 2 or more projects at the same time, it just doubles the detritus covering every surface.

Here is my cutting table – this mess was generated doing 3 x 3’s.

This is my print table which has an accumulation of stuff from fusing that was done on the table next to it plus paints and foil, and who knows what else.

I have another table next to my sewing area that has an accumulation of stuff, too.

And, the little pull out table on my sewing machine cabinet holds all the thread I have been working with for the last month or so.

All this stuff has a place, but I get so into the creativity, that I don’t take the time. I don’t think I can change so this week, I will spend time putting everything away so that I can start anew in an organized space. I made a bit of a dent tonight.

Here are the yellow orange 3 x 3s:

And look at what I have accomplished so far this year.

I have to figure out what to do with all of these, now.

I got some important errands done. Anita, the magazine is on its way to you in Florida. Sue Arnold, a felted nativity is on the way to you.

We have a square boxwood wreath on our front door. Mr C  lined the house with Christmas lights. We might go get a tree if we have a day without pouring rain.

I like your blog and have never commented. I’m really inspired to create a similar 3×3 project. Yours looks wonderful! It would be good for the memory……associate the block with an event that happened that day.

Love the 3 X 3s. Love the idea of it all: there is your year spread out in front of you!

    Hi Gerrie,

Love the way the 3x3s look. That’s going to be a wonderfully cheery piece when it’s done. Kind of like a year long notebook.

Things are almost done and pictures to come. Life has been a litle overwhelming. Looking forward to some peace and quiet without men with tools and construction debris.
Hope all is well with you and yours.

I love how all the 3×3’s look together! If you look at my blog you’ll notice that’s I’ve never posted an uncropped view of my studio – it is way too messy for public consumption! One of my goals this winter is to finally get better storage and really organize it.

The little 3x3s look so great together.
I love seeing your messed up tables. They’re almost worse than mine. 🙂
    Have a nice week.
It’s raining here too now, although more snow is on the forecast.

Your 3x3s look fantastic together! I love the color movement and the variety of design. Your studio looks like home to me. I wish I was a neat and tidy, but I make more messes cleaning up. Wishing you a dry day and a wonderful week.
