Mia is Ten!

miosmirk

Our little girl is growing up. I remember the day 10 years ago when she was born. I was there videotaping the event. Steph finally told me her name and I went home and knitted Miriam on the top of her Christmas stocking so that she would have it for her first Christmas a week later.

Today, she got her ears pierced and so she did all of these weird poses for me so that I could photograph her ears.

We went out for dinner at Papa Haydn which is renowned for their desserts. Mr C and I shared a very decadent pumpkin bread pudding.

Here is Steph photographing Mia and her cake, Buche de Noel.

It had a peppermint flavored white chocolate filling and was covered with frosted macaroons.

I am exhausted. I did not sleep well for a variety of reasons. I had to go to the lab early for routine blood work. Everything was just about perfect. I am doing well for an old lady. If I would lose 10-15 pounds, I would be perfect! Ha.

You’re pretty darn perfect just the way you are.
Happy Birthday to your gorgeous grand. She is lovely.

I never would have guessed Mia was short for Miriam. Both beautiful names. My daughter has a friend Mia and that is her real name, and but the Miriams in our family are called Mimi. She is a lovely young lady — all too soon, our grands grow up. They get older but we don’t – right? Our granddaughter Rebecca is already a teenager and our grandson Josh already has a bar mitzvah date for 2012. Where does it go?

Funny about cafes and composers: we have a Café Beethoven nearby that has to-die-for pastries and desserts.

Happy Birthday Mia! She is so beautiful, just like her Mom and Gram! My Gram was 30-50 pounds heavier than she liked, but I loved her roundness. I guess it gave me more to hug. Have a fantastic weekend.

  4. I think you are perfect right now.
    Happy Birthday to Mia.

    Gerrie,
    Repeat after me:
I am NOT old, I am NOT old, I am NOT OLD.
Old is older than I am.
Old ladies wear pasterl plyester double knit pants suits that are too tight and they particularly love the ones with a seersucker texture!
    I AM NOT OLD!

The ear piercing ritual–I well remember doing that with my daughter. A nice decadent dessert afterwards helps–we did that too. Good times.
