Migraine Pain

For two days, I have been suffering with an intense debilitating headache. Via phone consultations between the ENT and primary care advice nurses, the prognosis is a migraine. I have not had one in ages. I used to have them back in the day. I have barely been able to function except to do what I have to do. I am not a wimp. I have a high threshold for pain, and it is hard to keep me down. So, I have kept plugging along, walking Scooter and doing the cooking, but that is about it. This afternoon, I did an ice pack on my head and it felt better. I even felt like eating dinner. It tasted pretty good.

So, I ventured back down to my studio and decided to do a fiber sketch of what a migraine might look like. It hurts my head to look at it so I may have succeeded!

I also printed some aspen leaves on organza and cut them out. I pinned them to the trees. I am not sure this is going to work. I think I will try lutradur next. I really am not happy with the colors, so I need to work on that.

I was happy to get notification today that I have two pieces juried into Blurred Boundaries, a show that is focusing on work with surface design, this year. The show takes place at the Fabrications Retreat in Michigan at the end of August. The two pieces selected are Indigo Construction and Scorched Earth.

My duh moment will be something nice for one of my readers. I apparently ordered Jane Dunnewold’s new book, Art Cloth, three times. I ordered it from her website and from Amazon, which I cancelled after I realized I could order it directly from Jane. This week, I received a copy from Interweave, the publisher. I must have pre-ordered it from them. So, some time in the next week, when I feel better, I will have a chance for someone to receive my second copy. Stay tuned.

Hope I am feeling better tomorrow. I have Dr. appointment in the afternoon as a back-up.

I’m sorry you don’t feel well. I had migraine a few years ago and it was awful. I hope you get well soon.
(The colours of your migraine collage would almost qualify for the next 12×12 piece!)
