A New Accessory & Two More Postcards

Apparently when I was rearranging my studio yesterday, I sprained my wrist. Last night I was in excruciating pain. You should have seen me at 3 am trying to open a new bottle of Aleve – teeth can be very handy! The Aleve didn’t help much so today I went to the Urgent Care Clinic. I was told to ice it, take prescription dose of Aleve twice a day and wear this brace. Wouldn’t it be nice if they made these in lime green?

Here are two postcards I managed to get done this week-end. The top one has Mrs. Mel scraps and the bottom is dupioni silk and with Japanese textiles.

Ouch! I hope your wrist gets better soon Gerrie. You know, even with that thing on, I know you can still sew circles around the rest of us LOL! Love your postcards & stuff-
    ((hugs))

I actually fused some lime green fabric to the first wrist brace I had for carpal tunnel. The brace got banged around quite a bit and the fabric ended up looking a bit worse for wear. I think you should try painting it and let us know how it turns out.

    Rest and feel better.

Oh, can I relate to THAT! You have my heartfelt sympathies + I hope you got some good pain pills to go with the very un-green brace! In my experiece, the required “down time” has proven to be very helpful – both to my art and also for my psyche. I’m learning more about what to do and more importantly, what NOT to do…

Best of luck for a speedy recovery! Pat

I hope you feel better soon, and that you are still able to create, cause I enjoy seing your art and will miss it if you cannot…it is all about me…no..I want you to feel better..really…Ginger

Oh, poor you! I tell you, housecleaning is dangerous!! We ought to get hazard pay. Take it easy and relax with a pile of your favorite quilting books and mags, maybe an old movie on tv. It’s virtuous to rest!

  6. jpsam says:

OOOH, you poor thing! I hope you feel better. Maybe you could try fusing!

  7. Deb R says:

ACK! I hope it heals quickly! (And yes, the brace would be much more stylish in lime green.)

  8. Debra says:

Hey, Gerrie… there is always fabric paint!! It’s not natural fiber, so I’m not suggesting dye.

    Heal quickly.
