Here I Am

I am in San Francisco getting acquainted with this precious bundle.

I got really sick over the week-end and thought we might have to cancel our trip. I finally realized that I had gotten a massive sinus infection as a result of the upper respiratory virus. I was able to see my Dr. yesterday morning. She ordered the Z pack for me. I got home and still wondered if we could make the trip. I asked Mr C how late we could leave and still get to Ashland for our motel reservation. He said, 3 pm. I crawled into bed and took a nap, got up at 2, packed my bags and we were on our way by 3.

Oregon is beautiful after all the rains. Lots of green buds on the trees.

We saw some interesting cloud formations.

The antibiotic kicked in and I felt pretty good this morning. We hit the road for California. One of our first sights is always Mt. Shasta.

We saw bursts of red bud color.

And orchards about to burst forth.

Interesting old barns.

Regimented crop plantings.

And finally, into San Francisco and time with this perfect little girl.

We went to Whole Foods and bought a bunch of food for Mark and Jayme and made a wonderful meal. Paige was wide awake and taking it all in. Mark thinks she was stimulated by the additional voices in the house. She started to get fussy. He grabbed her and she just calmed right down.

We are staying in the flat on the third floor of the building where they live. It is owned by my niece and her husband. We are so lucky to stay close by. Scooter is a little wierded by all the changes, but is being a good sport. I am really tired tonight, but wanted to check in to let you know where I have been. I brought no sewing with me at all. I had all kinds of plans for hand work and hand felting to keep up with the 3 X 3’s, but they will have to wait. I am taking a break.
