A Birthday Party

Tomorrow is Miss Mia’s birthday. She will be 8. Today, she and eight friends celebrated. Here, she sits, waiting for them to arrive.

The theme was “Woodland.” Steph had all the makings for little terrariums.

Here are some of the completed works ready to go home.

Kristin! Wait until you see this: Fliegenpilz birthday cupcakes!!

My daughter is such a great Mom and party giver. Mia’s favorite part was probably this: opening pressies!

Tomorrow, Mr C and I are picking her up after school. We are going downtown to go shopping and to take in the Christmas decor. Then, we will meet up with the rest of the family for sushi.

My son-in-law, Jack, made my day. He asked me if I had gotten my hair cut – yes – Well, he said he liked it!!

I got all of the Christmas Mod Log Cabin Table runners sent off to the recipients. I took these two photos, using my table. This is the one that I gave to Steph:

This is the green dupioni runner.

I have to make one more dupioni runner for myself. I love them.

Now, I have a request to all of my Blogspot blogging friends. Recently, I was only able to leave a comment with a Google id or as anonymous. Now, I see that there is a new comment pop-up thingy so that I can use my WordPress ID, but I can’t get it to work. Does anyone know the secret. Does the blog have to have the option turned on in their settings? Help me, if you can.

What a wonderful party! I love the terarrium idea and the woodland theme. I notice that the lovely little Mia also has a shirt appliqued with the woodland theme deer.
The table runners are great, what wonderful gifts. I love the texture and shimmer of the silk, it makes it very “holiday”. Jen

Miss Mia has such wonderful birthday parties! Everyone appears to be having a good time and what wonderful favors to take home! The table runners are fabulous, a perfect addition.

What a fun birthday party. Mia looked like the birthday princess: it’s great that you all place those kids in such high esteem, for they will grow up feeling the love and also feeling secure in this insecure world.
Your table runners look great. Those are going on my summer 08 sewing list….yeah, like I’ll actually start them before Advent 08! LOL
You know, sometimes when I sign in to blog on my blogspot blog, blogger asks me for my gmail account name and won’t except my regular blogger id. It makes me crazy!

Mia gets prettier every time you show a picture. How wonderful to live so nearby and get to witness the grandkids growing up. Love those table runners and the cupcakes are simply adorable.Hope you have a great day Gerrie

OK, so much for stickin’ it to the Man. I went to Blogger and noticed that they are trying out this OpenID thang that’s supposed to work with (not exclusive of) WP, Typepad, etc. Perhaps Blog spotters need to click a few buttons to activate it on their sites. I sucked it up and actually edited my profile which allows me to add my non-blogger website url. Duh! So now I have a blogger account for the group blogs I belong to, plus through that profile, people can find my main blog and website. Gotta go eat chocolate now.

Wow! I am totally having a “woodland” birthday party next time around. I love the cupcakes. 🙂

I love the table runners too. I am so pleased with how versatile the pattern is and how great it looks with everyone’s individual tastes. I’m going to have to add some dupioni silk to my stash because it looks great!

I too have noticed that blogger only lets me comment with my Google id or as anonymous. It used to be that “other” worked and I could include the url to my wordpress blog so people could find me. Now “other” is no longer an option. Rather than be totally anonymous, I’ve been using my google id, but anyone looking for me that way has to find me within either of the two group blogs I belong to — one being primarily in German. My interpretation is that Blogger/Google wants everyone to have an account with them instead of with Typepad, WordPress, etc. I won’t play that game and will probably loose potential readers because of it, but oh, well, at least I’m stickin’ it to the Man!

There is an option in settings to allow comments from either “registered users only” or “anyone”, which says it means “anyone in the whole wide world can comment.” Mine is, and always has been, set to allow “anyone” to comment. So now I am curious to know if it truly does allow anyone to comment. Are you able to leave a comment on my blog?
