A Change of Pace

I saw this beautiful Clematis St. John’s Wort on our walk this morning. (Thank you, Terry for correctly identifying it.) It was sort of sunny and the temps got into the low 70s before the cloud cover came back tonight. I am so looking forward to one of the sunny days that lasts until 9 pm.

I decided that it was time to put away my winter layers and bring out my summer clothing. I emptied all my drawers and rearranged my closet, putting the wintry stuff in the guest room closet. I have a huge basket of summer stuff that needs pressing. I will work on that while I watch So You Think You Can Dance tomorrow night.

Here is my fiber sketch for today. It is a collage with some fabric scraps from my surface design bin.

I have been waiting until the evening to do these which I am finding difficult. I am going to try starting my day with a fiber sketch to see how that goes!

I wonder if that’s the same stand of them that I noticed on my walk this morning. So many I’d call it a ground cover. I had no idea St. John’s Wort had such gorgeous flowers; the name doesn’t suggest it would.

I think the flower is actually a St. John’s Wort.

I have never seen a clematis like that one. It is beautiful. You might have a lot of rain, but you sure have nice gardens.

  4. I’ve never seen a yellow clematis – our native ones are white or pink.

I also attaack my ironing while watching TV!

that’s an amazing clematis. I don’t think I’ve seen one that’s yellow around here. I long for your temps. We’re having a really hot,wet spell. 90+ today. Very unusual and not appreciated at all.
I’m really enjoying your daily art.
