Monday Mash UP

Today was a mixed bag for me. I had a meeting at Trinity at 12:30 which means getting my rear in gear and walking the dog early so that I can eat lunch early and then hit the road. Just before I left, the mail arrived with bad news. Allstate canceled our homeowner’s insurance because of the two thefts last year. Argh!! Mr C got on the phone and started tracking down some other insurance with no good results — we are damaged goods!

While I was at my meeting, he went over to our Wells Fargo Office. They hold our mortgage. A very nice employee did some research and found a company that may do business with us. This just makes me so furious. I hate that this saga seems to have no end.

Anyway, the meeting was great. I am part of the three amigos who are coordinating the annual Artists Among Us Fine Art Show and Sale at Trinity which happens in May. I am doing all of the computer work. Our resident graphic artist did a fabulous poster for us. We met with all of our other committee chairs and we are on the way to a successful event.

On the way home, I stopped at Office Depot to pick up some sheet protectors and a new binder for a class I am taking. (More about that later.) While there, I checked out their storage items. I found something that is perfect for my paints, inks and other printing supplies. I brought it home and after giving up on the instructions, which were drawings, I used my intuition and got it assembled.

The bins can be pulled out and taken to my print table, plus, I can easily see what is in the bins.

Oh and the 3 x 3 for today is fused and stitched.

Hmm, such a litany of villains these days, it’s hard to decide who’s the worst, but I’m voting for insurance companies. Way to add insult to injury. Such a scam!

  2. reva says:

Bummer about the insurance. Doesn’t the fact that you installed a security system make a difference?

  3. Judy says:

ah yes……the new piece: lovely! I got so caught up in thinking about the rest of your story that I forgot to compliment you on that.

    xo

  4. Judy says:

WOW – does that ever suck about the insurance. Ditto what Jeannie said about having it to protect you, and then when it’s not your fault, they cancel you. A HUGE thumbs down to Allstate!
    I love your new storage.

    xo

Have you looked at home insurance through Costco? I know their auto insurance is the very best as well as the cheapest. Love yesterday’s 3×3!

    Lovely little 3×3.
This story about your insurance is so bad. I guess you paid for it for so many years before anything happened. It’s not fair. Hope you find a new company.

Love your new piece and the way the colors go together!

As if being robbed isn’t bad enough, the stress of having your insurance canceled would be such a pain. Glad you found a company to cover you!

Oh my gosh, those storage bins look like just the ticket for screen printing supplies!

I hope you work out your insurance woes quickly. The burglary saga is unfair on just so many levels.

  9. dee says:

Sorry about the insurance thing. Lots of folks around here lost theirs from hurricane damage. Being robbed doesn’t seem to be the same thing.

Really like those small, daily, pieces. A bit of inspiration to start the day.

Okay, Office Depot just got added to the errand list for tomorrow! The cart looks ideal for paints, etc. Doesn’t it just irk you that you have insurance to protect in case something happens and then when it does, poof – they are gone. It happened to our neighbors also and makes no sense. Wishing you a brighter day tomorrow.
