We’re on our way to somewhere ……What’ll we see there, who will be there, what’ll be the big surprise?

Above photo is my meager offering for my art today. Drive-by photos taken with my iPhone!!

I also got some sleeves sewn to a few of my Twelve X Twelve quilts.

I am really, really exhausted. So here are the rest of my “artsy” photos.

The postcards above,  were created from bits of surfaced designed fabric that I have saved. These were really fun to put together. I am done with postcards for awhile so I have to come up with a new activity for tomorrow.

The following two cards are themes I often fall back on when I my brain needs a break.

I spent most of today getting the postcards done. Their destination will be revealed in due time.

I also did the machine stitching on the sleeves for my Twelve X Twelve quilts. They are ready for me when I have some need for hand stitching.

Because, you can’t make just one…. I had so much fun today with my indigo scraps. I love all of these. It feels pretty good to use up scraps that really would have no other use. You can click on the photo to see them larger.

I did one more for the colorful silk series, titled Circles.

It took a better part of my morning to prepare The Wall of Hopes and Dreams for shipping to Arizona for the Significant Stitches show. Scooter and I walked up to the Westmoreland Kinkos/FedEx store. It was a beautiful brisk and sunny fall day.

This afternoon, I went to see Kevin for a hair cut. I said cut it all off, I am tired of hair. Hed did. Hope I won’t regret it. It does grow back.

Look at my adorable pup on his new bed. When we first bought it, he would only lie next to it. Yesterday and today, he has been curled up on it.

I regret that I did not have time for any drawing exercises, but I will get to it. I have other fish to fry right now.

Day2postcards

You can’t make just one! I had such a busy day — Columbia Fiberarts Guild board meeting at my house; homework, make a delicious soup for supper and theology class tonight. I did manage to get 3 more postcards done. I found a few scraps of indigo and had to divert from my other color palette.

I received some good mail today. Karen Stiehl Osborn made several beautiful small collages which put up for sale to help our friend Beate Knappe with her vet expenses for her dog, Jeannie. I bought this one. It is even better in person.

Tomorrow, I am getting my hair cut; but I hope to have time to do the next workshop in the Expressive Drawing book. It involves some obliterating. Sounds like fun.

joie

I joined the group Art Every Day for a Month. It is something that I have wanted to do anyway -— being in a group makes it more fun and forces me to be more mindful. I just whipped up this post card from some fused silk scraps that I have in abundance. I am going to make several incarnations of this for a special event.

I also did some work on the Rainbow Fish School. The fish were disappearing into the water too much. It needed  some value change to show them off a bit more. I started by stitching with some sparkly thread, but that didn’t work. Tonight, I got out the color pencils and did some highlighting. I think it improves the composition.

I can’t believe a month has gone by, but tomorrow morning I have Columbia Fiberarts Guild board meeting. So off to bed so that I can rise bright and early and spruce up the abode for visitors.
